About Bob
Bob Poe has had a 28-year career in both the Alaska private and public sectors. He has served four Alaskan Governors during his career and his public sector positions have included Executive Director of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, Executive Director of the Alaska Energy Authority, State Commissioner of Administration, Deputy Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Transportation and Alaska International Trade Director responsible for offices in Anchorage, Tokyo, Seoul and Taipei.

Poe has extensive private sector experience including Senior Vice President of ASCG Incorporated, a subsidiary of Alaska's largest Native Corporation, Arctic Slope Regional Corporation, Practice manager at Coopers & Lybrand, and senior consultant with Price Waterhouse.
He has been critically involved in a variety of economic development efforts including leading Alaska's marketing and negotiating teams to attract the Federal Express cargo hub to Anchorage.
Bob lives in downtown Anchorage with his wife Terzah, an Inupiat Alaskan and their Siberian Huskies, Ben and Jerry.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration (international finance and economics) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (finance and marketing), both from the University of Missouri.

Accomplishments
- Led State of Alaska's marketing and negotiating teams to attract FedEx Asian cargo hub to Anchorage. The Anchorage International Airport is today the 3rd busiest cargo airport in the world.
- Increased AIDEA loan participations by 650% in one year increasing from $9.0 million to over $60.0 million.
- Founder of the Village Management Institute - providing management training to Alaska village leaders statewide
- Successfully completed divestiture of AEA's Four Dam Pool Hydroelectric power plants and refinanced purchase for $77.0 million.
- Refinanced $28.0 million Fed Ex Hangar reducing debt service costs and increasing profitability of investment by nearly $3.0 million annually.
- Successfully negotiated all 13 state government labor contracts in 2000 and secured Legislative funding resulting in 3 years of peaceful labor relations.
- Cleaned up Department of Transportation project accounting systems freeing up over $240.0 million to the state general fund.
- Successfully led Alaska's Y2K preparations effort for all state agencies and all critical IT functions in the Executive Branch.
- Assembled Alaska's capital budget for the Alaska State Legislature in 1994, exceeded $1.0 billion.
- Led Alaska's international trade efforts and managed Alaska's trade offices in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. During this period Alaska exports increased from $1.2 billion to $3.6 billion.
- One of two designers of AKSAS - Alaska's current accounting system.
